YES….it really does work.

Scotchgard if applied properly ;
Helps protect against both oil and water based stains,
Helps carpet fibers resist soiling,
Helps spills blot up before they become stains,
Helps stains release more easily when carpet and upholstery are cleaned,
Helps carpet and upholstery stay cleaned longer,

Vacuuming is actually more effective with Scotchgard protector. Dirt is lifted with ease and fewer passes are required with the vacuum to restore the original look.

Applying Scotchgard forms a protective barrier on the carpet. Spots and spills land on the Scotchgard instead of penetrating into the fibers. After each scheduled cleaning (preferably every 6 months) your carpet fibers will be restored and seem brighter and thicker.

4 Questions You Should Always Ask Carpet Cleaners

1.) What is your method of cleaning? There are several different ways approved by the IICRC to safely and effectively clean carpet and tile. Hot water extraction is ranked as the preferred method by the IICRC and has been found to deliver the best results. Should you choose a dry cleaning method, your carpets will remain damp for a shorter period of time but the overall cleaning will only be successful if you’ve maintained a good cleaning regiment along with the age of the carpets.

1.) What type of equipment do you use? There are two types of truck mounts. The first is the “slide in” type that has its own power system and the truck merely carries the equipment. It is fuel and space efficient. The other type is the “Engine Powered” type which is connected to the engine of the truck. The operation is controlled by a clutch. The equipment is compact, simple to use and reliable.

1.) Are your technicians certified? To be IICRC certified means you have extensive knowledge about various areas of carpet cleaning, tile and grout cleaning, upholstery cleaning and more. It means you know the science behind stains, chemicals, the environment and how it not only affects your carpet but also your health. I wouldn’t want an electrician to service my home without certification. It’s important you expect the same from your desired carpet cleaners.

1.) Do your offer any guarantee on your work? >Fusion offers a 10-day guarantee where we will re-visit your home within the 10-day time period to address any issues that did not get addressed before your cleaning. All carpet cleaning companies should offer some type of guarantee. I would be very skeptical if they didn’t.

Carpet Stain Removal:

A mixture of 1 teaspoon of liquid detergent and 1 teaspoon of white distilled vinegar in a pint of lukewarm water will remove non-oily stains from carpets. Apply it to the stain with a soft brush or towel and rub gently. Rinse with a towel moistened with clean water and blot dry. Repeat this procedure until the stain is gone. Then dry quickly, using a fan or hair dryer. This should be done as soon as the stain is discovered.

Garbage Disposal Cleaner

Garbage disposals may be kept clean and odor free with vinegar cubes. Vinegar cubes are made by filling an ice tray with a mixture of 1 cup of vinegar and enough water to fill the ice tray and then freezing it. Run the mixture through the disposal, and then flush it with cold water for a minute or so.

Refrigerator Odor

Place 1 cup apple cider vinegar in a glass and set in refrigerator. Within 2 days, any smell is gone!

Pet Accidents

Test the color fastness of the carpet with white distilled vinegar in an inconspicuous place. Then sprinkle distilled vinegar over the fresh pet accident. Wait a few minutes and sponge from the center outward. Blot up with a dry cloth. This procedure may need to be repeated for stubborn stains.

Spots caused by wine can be removed from 100 percent cotton, cotton polyester and permanent press fabrics if done so within 24 hours. To do it, sponge white distilled vinegar directly onto the stain and rub away the spots. Then clean according to the directions on the manufacturer’s care ta

From Leather/Suede

Follow these steps to remove nail polish stains from Leather or Suede:

* Carefully scrape excess with a dull knife or spatula. Mix a solution of mild soap in lukewarm water.
* Swish to create a great volume of suds.
* Apply only the foam with a sponge, but avoid spreading the stain.
* Dry with a clean cloth.
* If the polish has hardened, try gently rubbing an artgum eraser across it.
* As a last resort, cautiously file the area with an emery board or a piece of very fine (grade 6/0-8/0) sandpaper.
* As a thin layer of hide is removed, work carefully.
