In today’s world we face many elements such as viruses, bacteria, and allergens that affect the physical way we live.  Doctors and scientist study these overpowering elements trying to find ways to harness their effectiveness in harming our immune systems.  Because of the constant changing properties of viruses and bacteria a “cure” has yet to be discovered, although we have found ways to help control their success in over powering the human body.  One of the methods of control is to keep your carpets clean and sanitized.  Your carpets are one of the largest filters in your home and just like changing your a/c filter regularly, you want to vacuum daily and professionally clean your carpets at least once or twice a year.

Variation in Carpet Cleaning Methods…

There are a few different methods for keeping your carpets clean and sanitary.  The most common cleaning methods are Dry Cleaning and Hot Water Extraction.  Although our company offers both methods, the one we recommend is Hot Water Extraction.

Cleaning Method of Choice…

Hot Water Extraction, frequently called “steam” cleaning due to the fine spray of water used to force dirt out of the carpet which is sucked up by the vacuum slot immediately in front of the spray is the best carpet cleaning method available.  This is because studies show that 99% of all dust mite allergens found in carpet are removed with a single steam cleaning.  This method does an excellent job in extracting soil from deep in the carpet pile and can be very effective in removing other contaminants.  Therefore, hot water extraction is the only cleaning method classified as “deep and restorative” and for this reason it is the recommended method of nearly all of the carpet manufacturers and carpet fiber producers and has been recommended as a part of their regular carpet cleaning regimens.  Shaw Industries, the world’s largest carpet manufacturer, recommends this method because its own research indicates that it provides the best capability for cleaning. Shaw’s views are shared by most of your leading carpet manufacturers.

Sanitizing your Carpets…

Microban® sanitizer goes far beyond your professional carpet cleaning.  It is applied deep within the fibers of the carpets and provides an exclusive biocidal agent directed at neutralizing, reducing, and controlling odor-causing bacteria and fungi (including the H1N1).   It will improve your indoor air quality and maintain new home freshness. Having your carpets sanitized with Microban® may cost a little more, but the results are well worth it.
